1. Notes on battery disposal
In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
You are legally obliged to return used batteries as the end user. You can return used batteries, which we carry or have carried as new batteries in our range, free of charge to our dispatch warehouse [please insert dispatch address]. In addition, you can return used batteries free of charge to your municipal disposal point.
2. Meaning of the battery symbols
The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meanings:
The symbol of the crossed-out garbage can means that the battery must not be placed in the household garbage.
For batteries containing more than 0.0005% mercury by mass, more than 0.002% cadmium by mass or more than 0.004% lead by mass, the chemical name of the respective pollutant is shown below the dustbin symbol:
Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 percent lead by mass.
Cd = battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass
Cadmium Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass.
3. Information on the battery deposit
According to §10 BattG, distributors who sell starter batteries to end consumers are obliged to charge a deposit of 7.50 Euro including VAT if the end consumer does not return a used starter battery at the time of purchase of the new battery.
